Holiday and leisure venue adds new facility to enhance family-fun with play area at Carters of Suffolk ‘Teapot Pottery’ Tearooms

Stonham Barns Park – one of Suffolk’s premier leisure, retail and holiday destinations – has upgraded its visitor experience by adding a new children’s play area to further enhance its facilities.

The new play park, situated beside the globally acclaimed Carters of Suffolk Teapot Pottery, has a climbing frame with tower – and additional see saw and play frame – for young children to play on, keeping them active and safe thanks to a fully surrounding rubber base.

Next to the play park is a large, designated sand pit area which will bring a new ‘beach’ activity area – for toddlers and young children – to the venue for the warmer months.  Buckets and spades will be available from the Teapot Pottery Tearooms, where families can also book ‘Paint Your Own’ teapot and ceramic sessions as an extra family-fun activity.

The Teapot Pottery Tearooms will be on hand offering tea, coffee, cakes and light lunches for those who visit the new play facilities.

The mid-Suffolk visitor attraction, best-known for its award-winning Suffolk Owl Sanctuary, Teapot Pottery, holiday park and campsite, also features a café restaurant, golf centre, sports bar, fishing lakes, 40-outlet retail village including antique centre, garden centre, events showground, traditional funfair and newly added Adventure Footgolf course and FootPool course.

It has been serving the community of Suffolk since it first opened in 1987 and is still as much a family destination as it was when it first opened, and it is now becoming a more prominent part of Suffolk tourism which is growing exponentially year on year.  Stonham Barns Park itself welcomes many visitors from all over the UK – particularly from London, the South-East and from as far away as The North and Scotland.

Says Terri Forward of Stonham Barns Park, ‘Our mission is to be a place for locals to visit to relax and for visitors to stay and play. We have something for everyone and facilities like the new children’s play area should appeal to young families from the community.  We hope people who have not visited recently will come to see what has changed.  We think they will be excited by the new facilities on offer.’

Events are a major part of the annual programme of activities at Stonham Barns Park.  The venue stages car and truck shows, vintage transport, history, country shows and more.  A new calendar of events is now being put together for the 2025 spring, summer and autumn season.
