The very first Land Rover Show staged at Stonham Barns Park this weekend showcased all things 4×4.

The new show – strongly supported by clubs from the area – displayed over 200 classic, modified, and new Land Rovers and attracted around 1000 visitors. The exhibits included Freelander, Discovery, Defender, Evoke and Range Rover.

Visitors were able to browse an auto jumble, club stands trade stands and enjoy live music throughout the day’s event.

Suffolk Land Rover Club was just one of the clubs at the show.  One of the most popular attractions at the show was the off-roading rides – for visitors – on a specially made course to demonstrate the manoeuvrability, resilience, and handling of the 4x4s.  Money raised from the course activity will be donated to the East Anglian Air Ambulance and Suffolk Lowland Search and Rescue.

Said Terri Forward of Stonham Barns Park, ‘This debut show has been one of the most exciting of the year – with Land Rover exhibits and an off-road driving experience for those who would like to see the various models handling some lumps and bumps.  We have had all the action and adventure here with back stories from the various exhibits courtesy of their owners.  Some of these cars have been through some global challenges and some have just left the showroom!’

‘It has been a mix of excitement, adrenaline and fun.  We look forward to putting on a similarly successful show again next year!’

Ipswich and District Remote Control Truckers attending the event too to demonstrate their trucks and 4×4 models.

Stonham Barns Park offers not only fantastic shows and events, but also leisure attractions including an owl and bird of prey centre, a 9-hole golf course, footgolf, fishing and Legends Sports Bar. For more info go to www.stonhambarns.co.uk
