Christmas Craft Market attracts crowds for festive fun
The feature-packed and brightly illuminated Christmas Craft Market – staged at Stonham Barns Park last weekend (25-26 November) – attracted around 200 stall holders and 8000 visitors from Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex for a weekend of festive fun.
With mince pies, mulled wine, hot chestnuts, live music Stonham Barns Park – one of Suffolk’s premier entertainment venues – pulled out all the stops to put on a weekend of ‘festive fun’ for both adults and children. A Snow Queen and Princess attended the festivities and there was a Santa’s Grotto too.
Explains Terri Forward from Stonham Barns Park, ‘Christmas is all about the memories and we did help to make the start to the season truly magical with our annual Christmas Craft Market. We certainly put on our biggest and best yet with Santa’s Grotto, a funfair for the children, train rides, bouncy pillow, face painting and delicious food and drink outlets.’
‘The gift and craft retailers attending were selling some delightful gifts and decorations, and they were very pleased with the support they received as local businesses.’
‘As always we went all out to capture the spirit of Christmas and spread some seasonal goodwill.’
The market featured some uniquely handmade, handcrafted gifts and products, mostly made in Suffolk, Norfolk and Essex. In addition, visitors were able to visit the retail village which is packed with 1000s of Christmas gift ideas. These outlets include arts and craft shops, the Suffolk Owl Sanctuary, Carters of Suffolk pottery and newly enhanced tearooms and Legends Sports Bar.
The event offered visitors free parking and free entry.
