An episode of Salvage Hunters programme filmed last year at Aspal Antiques – located at Suffolk’s premier entertainment and leisure destination Stonham Barns Park – will be aired on Quest TV on 26 October at 9.00pm.

Presenters Drew Pritchard and John Tee visited the antiques and architectural salvage outlet in search of beautiful antique, vintage and retro objects and found lots to discuss with owners Alan Knight, Henrietta Lewis, Alf and Wendy Faulkner.  Some of the production team even bought items from the store for themselves.

Said Alan, ‘We were approached during lockdown to see if we would host a visit when we opened the Aspal Antiques outlet here at Stonham Barns Park.  We were just getting ready to launch at the new venue. We obviously said yes and the whole experience was very memorable.  Drew and John where so friendly as were the film crew.  It was a fabulous opportunity to talk to the TV experts about what we do and the current sales trends in Suffolk.’

‘The business is growing as result of a collecting revival that began in lockdown and is continuing with an increase in demand from people looking to decorate gardens and outdoor spaces with architectural feature pieces.’

‘Since the pandemic there has been a renewed interest in antiques and collectables. These heritage pieces are the UK’s treasure-trove.  They adorn houses and gardens and are passed on through rolling-ownership for new generations to admire and enjoy.  What could be more sustainable than pieces that span generations of families.’

‘The antiques market will always be strong – even in these challenging times – people understand the value of owning a little piece of history.’

The antiques and architectural centre continues to grow in line with the increase in feature-rich property make-overs including renovations and self-builds; and also people looking to ‘treat’ themselves to something collectable.
